About our studio < back to home

Dehleez opened shop in 1994 with two architects, Manoj Gupta and Lena Ragade Gupta at the helm of affairs. With over two decades of growth and accumulated experience, it has evolved and diversified into an established studio, for whom architecture has transcended profession and is perceived as a committed responsibility towards society, towards culture, ecology and conservation. It has clearly developed a signature style, a vocabulary of design that spans across all the typologies and scales of design; one that has been borne out of engaging in constant dialogue with form and space and a persistent search for order. This in turn has emerged from the realities of our ecosystem through tools as materials or elements and innovative techniques, by celebrating trends and products and identifying and responding to contemporary issues. Its clean and honest work ethics, the deliverability and integrity continues to draw enormous goodwill from past clients turned well wishers.

"Design a thing by considering it in its next larger context- a chair in a room, a room in a house, a house in a community, a community in a city."

About Us< back to home

Having graduated with top honours from the prestigious School of Architecture, CEPT, Ahmedabad and having been under the tutelage of some of the best mentors in the field, our design philosophy is rooted in the fundamentals. The stint at the Federal University of Zurich along with the work experience in Europe and more importantly the extensive travel across continents has been ingrained in the pedagogy and rubrics. Even as we work as a consortium, playing a supportive and critical role in each other's work, the niche segments are coincidentally different and that endows 'value addition'and flavour. Manoj is most passionate about building design and interior architecture while Lena is more inclined towards ecological landscape and sustainability. Their modus operandi however has always been to incorporate user perception, clients' sensibilities and preferences, simultaneously moulding and inspiring users rather than imposing ideas. Also, the larger picture is never lost sight of.

About Our Habitat

Indeed simple and sleek is beautiful. The office is a tactile backdrop to the work. A brainstorming space, work space and a library connected by a lobby and subtly segregated by glass is meant to be invitational and kept deliberately neutral to allow the visitors to feel secure about their perceptions.
