Seeming deceptively simple, this typology is in reality, complex, for, it is personalised. We strive to make the house functionally resolved, efficient, comfortable and maintainable. Feeding the natural tendency in people to want to project their home as a cherished edifice, the architecture employs ordering principles such as proportion, contrast, surface articulation and rhythm.
Natural light has always been of immense importance in architecture. We believe it is possible to work with contemporary materials to sculpt light, make it belong to a room and give space a tonality. Artificial illumination in a home is to do with creating moods and accents, when in use, and to be celebrated as a display of designer products, when not in use. Our interior architecture exploits completely the palette of colours, textures, materials, furniture, products and fixtures. The use of indigenous materials is actively pursued and promoted as a conscious stance on the need to be ecologically sound. Also the contextual response is ensured this way.
In essence, a house is a receptacle for the soul and spirit of its inhabitants, one that creates spaces which share the trials and tribulations of the individuals and the family as a whole, strengthen relationships and enrich the experience called life. Herein lies our satisfaction as architects, playing a catalytic role.
